Common Surgeries For Penis Curvature

Surgery has more than one answer for correcting penis curvature, but for men who are unwilling to go under the knife, another course of action is available such as using a traction device.

The following is a brief summary of two common surgical procedures used to correct penis curvature.

Treatment #1: Tissue Graft Surgery

Tissue Grafts are a very common and relatively new procedure to correct penile curvature and Peyronie's disease. Tissue grafts involve surgically removing the hardened plaque buildup on the penis that causes it to end a certain way.

Ideally, the tissue graft is taken from the same person's body to reduce the rejection of it by the body immune system. In some hospitals, a synthetic material is used as the graft and in some rare cases, tissue from another human or animal is used.

Although commonly prescribed when correcting penile curvature, tissue grafts often cause horrible scarring and other side effects such as bleeding, from the body's natural rejection of the implant.

The tissue graft method may also cause shortening of the penis after surgery unless a traction device is used to keep it pointing straight.

Treatment #2: Penile Implants Surgery

The last resort for patients who suffer from penis curvature are penile implants. This procedure is only recommended for severe cases such as severe bending. Years ago, penile implants were a common treatment for erectile dysfunction and is still used today only when other medications and drugs are not effective.

A penile implant is a plastic cylinder or tube placed inside the Corpora Cavernosa, the main blood filling chamber in the penis, and is used to straighten the penis during an erection, and bend the penis away from the bending point.

When You Should Consider Surgery

While these and other surgical procedures have been successful and left patients happy with their results, surgery should only be used as a last resort, until all other options are ineffective. Even a tiny mistake can ruin an operation and with surgery, there are are no second chances.

Natural Alternatives To Correct Penis Curvature

A safe and effective treatment that is now becoming an accepted alternative to surgery is the use of a traction device. When tested in a clinical study for a 6 month period, the SizeGenetics traction device was seen to correct curvature by up to 70% and increase penis length by up to 1.6 inches.
